Lean Operations is a course that provides insights and practical approaches to applying Lean principles to organizations that deliver services to customers, as contrasted with organizations that focus strongly on the design, development and delivery of new products and services.
During the course, we investigate successful strategies applied in a variety of Lean organizations and define how these work in the improvement of organizations in which the primary focus is the delivery of existing services to customers. How should these organizations interact with their customers? How should they deal with processes? What capabilities need to be developed and how can these be sustained? How can these organizations best organize themselves and how can they create the performance required by the customer?
